Before you think any of my below posts belie a certain xenophobia, let me assure you, I am a greater conoisseur of Arabic and Middle Eastern culture than the average Anglo-American. As a dancer trained in classic raqs sharqi and huge fan the region's music, food and art, it pains me to see a rich culture held hostage -- figuratively and literally -- by a sadistic dealth cult known as the jihadist wing of Islam.
